Earlier this year we were contacted by Jeanette and her husband Al to let us know they were organising a fundraiser with proceeds of this fundraiser to go to the Lynne King Foundation.
Al had decided to part with his 27 year old pony tail!!
This heroic act came about when Al wanted to support Jeanette when she lost her hair during 6 months of extensive chemotherapy for her cancer.
It was 4 years on hold but On the 3rd of May 2015 Al's hair was to go.
They received a lot of local support from family and friends who also decided to shave their heads and raise money. They had a goal of reaching $1000 but well and truly surpassed this mark reaching over $1800.
Jeanette wanted to raise money for our charity to continue the work we do supporting people battling cancer that need financial and emotional support.
We would like to thank Jeanette and Al and their family and friends for their support and for kindly sharing with us some photos of their big shave. Looked like they all had a great day.

The Lynne King Cancer Care Foundation is a charity working to help those with cancer. It was formed in the memory of Lynne King, who as a nurse spent much of her life caring for those with cancer.
